Gackt does Kimono and a Hollywood movie too.

So for those of you who aren't into J-rock or Gackt I thought I would share something I found over at comtesse_de_lis blog The Kimono Lady.

It seems that Gackt, in collaboration with a company called Nemuri, has released a line of Summer Kimono/Yukata. You can find them here. It seems that they're made out of transparent polyester so there is a kind of see-through effect. Perhaps they were thinking it was similar to a ro weave?

Anyway, they're ungodly expensive for my budget and given how strong the yen is in comparison to the dollar, that makes them even more difficult to get but if you love kimono and you love Gackt, this collaboration is a match made in heaven.

This one is my particular favorite and I think I a good example that would appeal to all kimono lovers, not just Gackt fans. Sadly...it's sold out. ._.

I think he's got a good idea, if he came up with the ro-like weave for the fabric. The fact is, it's getting HOT everywhere. My friend in Hokkaido, two years ago she told me it didn't snow that year. For the first time in recorded history. I can't wear awase kimono here in FL at all unless I see frost on the windows. I need to buy more gauze hitoe!
